My Weight Loss Journey – An Update
Last time I wrote about my weight loss journey, I shared that at 5ft 6, I was weighing in at 14 stone 5lb. I was classed as obese and in serious danger of developing weight-related illnesses.
Whilst I’m still not out of the woods, I’m so proud to be able to say that I’m now in the overweight category! OK, so this doesn’t seem like something to be proud of, but I’ve lost a huge amount of weight and it’s still coming off.
So, drum roll please…..
Today, I weighed in at 12 stone 12lb exactly. That’s almost two stone gone!
A bit of back story
I’ve struggled with my weight since my early 20s and although I’ve lost weight here and there, I’ve always let it creep back on. I think part of the problem was that I went on crash diets, depriving myself of everything and it just wasn’t sustainable for me.
Here’s the thing – I love my food. I love stodgy, savoury foods such as pizza, jacket potatoes, fajitas, chippy chips. I’m also a little partial to the odd bar of chocolate too.
Depriving myself long-term just wasn’t going to work for me.
How I’m losing weight now
I wrote before about the Do the Unthinkable plan from Muscle Food.
Honestly, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for my own health, and I wish I’d taken the plunge sooner.
At my heaviest one morning, I sat on the bed to dry my hair, and the rolls of fat in the mirror shocked me. I was disgusted that I’d let myself get to that point and I hated the way I looked.
So, that day, I ordered my first box. And I honestly haven’t looked back since then!
With the plan, you get three meals and three snacks per day, plus a fitness programme to follow from home.
I started at the beginning of December, so the weight has come off steadily rather than dropping off. But I think that’s the key to maintaining weight loss! It’s all about developing a healthy way of live that’s sustainable!
I’ll keep you posted about my progress, I’ve still got a way to go before I’m in healthy weight zone, but I’m determined to get there!
